Caroline Messer graduated with a degree in psychology and a 3.80 grade point average. She logged a spot on the CSC Academic All-America At-Large First Team. The Panther also secured her initial Academic All-District At-Large accolade.

Messer had a career campaign for the navy and white as a senior, earning Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National Defender of the Year and First Team All-American, all-region and All-NESCAC recognition. The defender paced the team with 47 caused turnovers and scooped up 59 ground balls. At the time of her graduation, her single-season caused turnovers mark ranked second in the program’s record books. She closes her career third with 153 ground balls and fifth in caused turnovers with 92.

In the classroom, Messer was a College Scholar and landed on the dean’s list. She earned three NESCAC All-Academic honors and was an IWLCA Division III Honor Roll recipient. Messer conducted a semester-long research project examining ways to enhance student belonging and engagement in the classroom.

She was highly involved in volunteering with the Mary Johnson Children’s Center, Kiddy Lacrosse Program and Special Olympics Vermont. Messer is running the New York City Marathon in the fall to raise money for Girls on the Run.
