Kyle McCausland became just the second baseball player in program history to earn CSC Academic All-America honors in 2023. The economics and computer science double major boasted a 3.88 grade point average (GPA).
An economics major, McCausland tallied the national award three times. The Panther led the conference in home runs (12) and runs batted in (50), while he was tied with a NESCAC-high 100 total bases. The outfielder also paced the team with a .629 slugging percentage and concluded the season in a tie for second on the squad in runs (43) while sitting third in on-base plus slugging (OPS -1.024).
During the 2024 season, McCausland rewrote the Middlebury record books, becoming the program's career record holder with 138 career RBI. He also holds the program mark with 28 home runs. He was active off the diamond, securing a spot on the NESCAC All-Academic team three times as well as being named a Middlebury College Scholar seven times. He was a member of the Scholars of Finance and earned a certificate in international economics and finance in the fall of 2023.
In 2025, he excelled in his final season, leading the team with 52 hits and 48 runs batted in (RBI) en route to NESCAC Player of the Year honors for the second time. He also earned All-American Second Team praises from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and was named the region 1 player of the year by D3baseball.com and the ABCA. A first-team all-conference selection, he paced the NESCAC with 13 home runs and 108 total bases. The outfielder graduated as the record holder in career hits (202), runs scored (156), doubles (45) and homers (41).
He also took part in Middlebury baseball's community service day as well as volunteering at the Vermont Lake Monsters' summer kids' clinic.
