Entrance to Facilities: Everyone using the athletic facilities should enter through the main entrance of the Peterson Family Athletics Complex.
WHO MAY USE THE FACILITIES
All Middlebury College faculty, staff, students, alumni, retirees and spouses or partners of benefits-eligible employees may obtain an ID card. If you do not have one, you can obtain one by emailing the Dining Services/Card Office in lower Proctor at middcard@middlebury.edu. The following guidelines apply:
- Dependents must be accompanied by the cardholder.
- Guests will no longer be able to sign in at the front desk and must be accompanied at all times by a cardholder.
- Cardholders must be physically present and are prohibited from providing their cards to others.
Beginning on February 2, 2026, an active Middlebury College ID card will be required to access the Peterson Family Athletic Complex, Nelson Recreation Center and the Bostwick Family Squash Center Lobby during the following times:
- Monday through Friday between 6 - 8:30 a.m. and 7 - 11 p.m.
- Saturdays and Sundays from 7 p.m. until close
Additionally, an active Middlebury College ID card will be required to access both the Fitness Center and the Natatorium during all hours of operation.

MONITORS
Student and staff monitors supervise the use of the facilities. They have been instructed not to admit anyone without an ID card except a guest accompanying an ID card holder or an official guest of the College. Please report any problems to the monitors and cooperate with their requests.
COURT RESERVATIONS
Tennis court reservations can be made by using our online sign-up form. For questions, call 802.443.5250.
CLIMBING WALL
Open during the undergraduate academic calendar. The climbing wall is closed during the summer.
LOCKER AND EQUIPMENT USE
Lockers are available in the general locker room, please bring your own lock. Limited equipment is available at the front desk by leaving your Middlebury College ID card
