Zug Family Sports Medicine Facility
The Zug Family Sports Medicine Facility is home to the Middlebury College Athletic Trainers. The staff provides services to any student-athlete who is listed on an official roster of any intercollegiate team, as well as club crew and rugby. Below are some of the highlights of the facility.

ColdTub Therapeutic Water Immersion – In August 2017, the Gould Family donated this piece of equipment, which can serve as a hot or cold tub.

Compression Band Therapy – Manually tests soft tissue, joints and the effect of training and injury on the various structures of the body.

Custom Orthotic Molding – Multiple options for foot orthotic fittings including splitting and shoe inserts.
Â
Electrical Stimulation, Ultrasound and E-Stim/US Combo Therapy – These units assist in pain management and tissue healing.

Therapeutic Cupping – Facilitates myofascial decompression for healing and pain management.
Â
Graston & Rock Blades – Two separate tool sets with similar techniques for the treatment of scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

Rock Tape – A specialized tape used to elicit a proprioceptive feedback mechanism to help reinforce posture and body position. This helps with muscle memory and improved biomechanical efficiency.

Dry Needling – This method helps to treat pain and kinesthetic impairments.

Biodex + ImPACT Testing – Purchased in 2016 to help gather objective data in concussion management. This piece of equipment measures and compares individual balance using force plate sensors during the recovery of head injuries along with baseline measurements.

Whirlpools – The facility has a pair of stainless-steel whirlpools used for warm water immersion.
