A molecular biology and biochemistry major, Elsie Van Wieren earns a spot on the CSC Academic All-America Women's Tennis Second Team after logging her first CSC Academic All-District honor.

Van Wieren had a stellar 2025-26 campaign. In singles, the Panther played the entire season at the top of the lineup and tallied a 25-8 mark, including a 16-4 effort in the #1 spot. She was named an All-NESCAC First Team selection for the second consecutive year and was ranked seventh nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Seeded eighth at the NCAA Singles Championship, Van Wieren made a run to the national quarterfinals and became the first player in three years to reach that round. She also earned an All-American nod in singles. The Panther closes her second campaign with 48 career singles triumphs.

Alongside doubles partner Anna Larder, the duo claimed All-NESCAC First Team honors. Teaming up early in the spring season, Van Wieren and Lardner went 10-3 with nine victories coming at the top position. Seven of those wins occurred in conference action. The duo was ranked fourth in a very competitive Northeast region. Through two seasons, Van Wieren has 47 doubles triumphs.

Off the court, the Panther is an ITA Scholar Athlete and NESCAC All-Academic honoree. Van Wieren has been an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Michigan and has published an article focused on athletic discipline and her emerging research career through the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS).
