Humphrey was named an Academic All-American Second-Team selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in 1988. He earned his diploma in 1988 in economics and was inducted into the Middlebury Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019.

Humphrey's name is sprinkled throughout the program’s record book including points in a career (1,844), single season (621), and game (46). He holds the record for highest scoring average in a season (28.2, 1987-88) and career (20.5), while owning the marks for most field goals in a game (20), season (225) and career (698).

On the defensive end, he sat atop the program’s ranks at the time of his graduation with 190 career steals, while he was second in single-season swipes (55).

In addition to being named an Academic All- American, he was an National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First-Team All-New England and the 1984-85 team’s Most Valuable Player.
