Mitchell Schroeder, who is working toward his master's degree in international policy and development, was named to the CSC Academic All-America Second Team and earns his second national academic accolade after garnering third-team laurels in 2022.
Off the field, Schroeder is a four-time NESCAC All-Academic selection and has been named a Middlebury College Scholar on four occasions. He is a member of the Pre-Law Club and the AI Governance Research group, while also working as a Communications Intern with Middlebury Athletics.Â
The senior owned team highs in batting average (.361), OPS (1.070), on-base percentage (.475) and walks (27). Schroeder ranked second on the squad in 2024 in RBI (49), doubles (11) and home runs (eight) and was third in hits (57), total bases (94) and slugging percentage (.595). His RBI total was second in the NESCAC, while his home runs and walks ranked third. The Panther's RBI mark is tied for third in the program's single-season record books, while his 103 career runs batted in ranks fourth in Middlebury history.Â
The senior volunteers with Middlebury Little League and Brookline's Little League Challenger program for kids with physical and intellectual disabilities, while also taking part in Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) sustainability efforts on campus.
