Tomás Kenary, a neuroscience major with a 3.74 GPA, earns a spot on the CSC Academic Second Team after being a first team honoree in 2023. This season, the defensive lineman concluded his Panther career as the program's all-time leader in sacks (30), sack yardage (227), tackles for loss (51) and TFL yardage (267). In 2023, the defensive lineman concluded the fall second on Middlebury's single-season sacks list (11.5) and finished the season ranking in the top-five in Division III in tackles for loss (second with 18.0 tackles/104 yards) and sacks (fourth with 1.38 per game).
During his junior campaign, heÂ
led a defense that set single-season records in sacks (27.0) and passes defended (69), as well as a single-game sack mark of nine. The group limited six opponents to 10 points or less this season and ranked fourth in program history in single-season sack yards with 181.Â
Kenary was lauded with countless awards during his career. In 2024, the defensive lineman became the third player in program history to be named a two-time American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American alongside his third-consecutive All-NESCAC First Team honor. He earned a spot on the 2023 D3football.com All-American Fourth Team and was tabbed the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year while also being named to the NEFW and D3football.com All-Region squads. Kenary was named a finalist for the NFF Williams V. Campbell Trophy, a semifinalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, and earned NEFW Gold Helmet and NESCAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades during his career.
The Panther was been named a Middlebury College Scholar on four occasions, while being tabbed to the NESCAC All-Academic team three times.
