Caroline Adams was a neuroscience and Spanish double major who graduated with a 3.96 grade point average. She was the second athlete in Middlebury Athletics history to be named the College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-America Team Member of the Year. Adams secured a CSC Academic All-America At-Large First Team selection after earning All-District honors each of the last two campaigns.
The attacker excelled in her final campaign, becoming the fifth consecutive Panther to be named the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National Player and Attacker of the Year. She was also named an IWLCA All-American and All-Pilgrim Region First Team honoree. Adams logged NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year and her third all-conference accolade with a spot on the first team for the second time in her career.
During her senior campaign, she paced the conference with 72 goals, 117 points and 124 draw controls to guide the Panthers to their fifth consecutive NCAA crown. Her 117 points are the second most in a single season at the time of her graduation. Adams, who was named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, logged a program record 473 draw controls over 86 career contests. She is also the first athlete to have 100 or more draw controls in three seasons.
In the classroom, Adams graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, alongside securing three NESCAC All-Academic honors. She earned the Hazeltine-Klevenow Memorial Trophy and was an assistant in the organic chemistry, neuroscience and psychology departments.
Off the field, she was the Co-Leader and Sustainability Chair of Middlebury’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a mentor for the Women in Health Science Club. Adams volunteered as an interpreter at the Open Door Clinic and as an Everybody Wins mentor at Mary Hogan Elementary School.
