School Record Falls in Fastrack National Invitational

A school record fell on Friday as the Panther track & field teams competed in the non-scoring Fastrack National Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York. The meet featured athletes from all three NCAA divisions and international running clubs. The Panthers return to the track next Saturday when they host the Middlebury Team Challenge.

For the women on the track, the 4x400-meter relay team of Julia Munz, Lucy Lang, Ava O'Mara and Gretchen McGrath won their section and finished fourth overall with a time of 4:01.83.

Individually, McGrath was fourth in the 400 meters (59.83), while Katelyn Pease finished fourth in the 800 meters (2:19.45).

On the men's side, Minhaj Rahman continued his record-breaking winter, winning the weight throw for the fifth-straight week with a school-record toss of 61'1.5". The distance breaks his own school record of 60'2" which he set last week during the Tufts Cupid Challenge.

In the running events, Jimmy Martinez was third in the invite race during the 400 meters (48.69), while Jonathan Perlman was fourth in the invite event during the mile (4:13.69).

Other top-eight efforts came from Theo Henderson, who was seventh in the mile (4:22.36), Nathan Hill, who placed eighth during the 800-meter invite race (1:54.43), while Arden Coleman was eighth in the 400 meters (50.47).
