Women's Track and Field

School Record Falls as Panthers Compete at Bowdoin Invite

A school record in the women's 4x100-meter relay and a combined seven event titles highlighted Saturday's action as the Middlebury track and field teams competed in the Bowdoin Invitational. The Panther women finished second out of four teams with 89 points behind the host Polar Bears' who won with 91, while the men were second of three with 92 points. Middlebury returns to action next weekend when it competes at both the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday as well as the Albany Invitational on Saturday.

During the women's competition, the 4x100-meter relay team of Ellie Greenberg, Natalie Cheung, Maddie Pronovost and Elizabeth Walkes ran to a school-record time of 49.09, good for second place. The time betters the mark of 49.10 set two weeks ago at the PLNU Invitational.

Katherine MacCary picked up an event title during the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:00.95, winning by nearly 18 seconds over the next finisher.

Off the track, Kristin Kimble won the high jump (5'0.25"), while Kreager Taber cleared the bar with a winning height of 10'2" in the pole vault.

On the men's side, Arden Coleman claimed the title for the Panthers in the 400-meter dash (49.87).

Away from the track, Nathaniel Albers also earned a win, clearing the bar at a victorious height of 13'9.25". Taylor Moore won the javelin with a toss of 170'7", while Jonathan Fisher accumulated 5,095 points in the decathlon.
