The Middlebury field hockey team picked up its sixth-straight win with a 4-0 NESCAC victory over Trinity on Saturday. The Panthers (10-2, 7-1) return to action tomorrow when they host Husson at 1:00 p.m., while the Bantams (7-5, 3-5) entertain Wesleyan on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Trinity's best chance to get on the board came just 4:45 into the game, when Kelcie Finn took a hard shot to the upper-left corner, but was denied by Middlebury goalie Abby Furdak. The Panthers grabbed the lead, scoring at the 13:23 mark, when Marissa Baker one-timed a centering feed from Annie Leonard.

Middlebury doubled the lead with 8:04 remaining in the opening stanza. Grace Jennings worked the ball down the left side of the field, before sending a cross in to Danielle Brown, whose shot was tipped in by Leonard.

Out of the intermission, Trinity had their best opportunity to cut the deficit in half at the 37:33 mark, but Finn's shot sailed just high of the cage. Just 2:23 later, Bantam goalie Lori Berger came off her line to deny a breakaway attempt by Jennings.

The Panthers added to their lead in the 48th minute after a penalty corner, to make it a 3-0 game. Baker sent a cross in to Leonard, whose shot was tipped home by Molly Freeman. The final goal of the game came 3:32 later in a similar fashion. Following a penalty corner, Jennings redirected a shot by Audrey Quirk.

Middlebury held a 22-6 advantage in shots for the contest. Furdak made two saves to earn the win for the Panthers, while Berger stopped eight shots for the Bantams.
