The Panthers were honored for their work in the classroom.
The Middlebury field hockey team has been honored for its hard work in the classroom. The program, along with several student-athletes, was recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) in its postseason academic accolades.
The Panthers were one of 78 institutions to earn the 2025 National Academic Team Award. The honor is given to teams with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year. Middlebury's 3.90 was the best across Division III.
Sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, the National Academic Squad honors undergraduate student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher in the fall semester of the 2025-26 academic year. The Panthers and Springfield College tied for top honors in Division III with 25 honorees. Earning the distinction were seniors Sarah Bona, Georgianne Defeo, Ellie Harrison, Grace Keefe, Thea Rosenzweig and Madaket Rzepka. Juniors Eliza Cho, Madeline DiLemme, Shawna Ferraro, Megan Fuqua, Ally Kennedy, Izzy Redzic and Abigail Weidner, as well as sophomores Tessa Herbst, Emma McCann, Emma McNealy and Lily Stockwell garnered the accolade. Wrapping up the honorees were first-years Addie Chandler, Hadley Crowther, Parker Hanson, Sofia Klingbeil, Eliza Larson, Fiona McSweeney, Anna Stuart and Madison Winston.
Middlebury led the NESCAC and was tied with Ithaca College and Springfield for the second-highest total in Division III with 13 Scholars of Distinction. The award recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the fall semester. Cho, Crowther, Ferraro, Hanson, Herbst, Kennedy, Larson, McNealy, Rosenzweig, Rzepka, Stockwell, Weidner and Winston tallied the laurel.
