Two members of the Middlebury women's track & field team competed on the second day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Waverly, Iowa. The three-day event hosted by Wartburg in Waverly, Iowa concludes on Saturday at Walston-Hoover Stadium with the first event scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
During Friday's 400-meter dash preliminary run, Alexandra Morris posted the fifth-best time in her heat of 56.21, good for 16th place. A few events later, Lucy Lang crossed the line with a time of 2:11.31 in the 800-meter run, the fourth-fastest time in the heat and good for 11th overall.
The Panther women will be represented on Saturday by Abigail Nadler and Devon Player. Nadler ran to the 12th-quickest time of 4:35.48 during Thursday's 1,500-meter preliminary and compete for a national title at 2:35 p.m., while Player will vie for a title in the javelin toss scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
