Andersen's School Record, Maxwell's All-American Finish Highlight Final Day of NCAAs

Carly Andersen set the school record in the javelin throw and Alison Maxwell posted an All-American finish during the final day of the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The three-day event was hosted by St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York and took place at the Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex.

In the javelin, Andersen entered the event as the 17th seed. She posted the school-record throw of 142'11" during her second attempt, just missing All-American status by six inches and finished ninth. Andersen's record breaks the previous distance of 140'9" set by Lauren Pincus in 2014 during the Ross and Sharon Irwin Meet in California.

Capping off her first collegiate season in the same event was Devon Player, who finished 13th with a throw of 137'6" in her first attempt.

Maxwell, the 2015 NCAA Indoor champion in the mile, recorded an All-American effort via her eighth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Seeded 14th going into the event, she crossed the line Saturday with a time of 17:20.64 as places three through eight were separated by less than nine seconds.
