Middlebury's Hannah Blackburn broke the Middlebury track & field program's outdoor record in the long jump, while Lauren Pincus posted a top-four performance in the javelin toss. The pair highlighted the second day of the 2014 Division III New England Championships hosted by Springfield. The three-day meet concludes on Saturday with events scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

During the long jump competition, Blackburn leapt to a distance of 18'2.50”, good for third place and All-New England honors. That jump places her in a tie for 23rd in all of NCAA Division III.

Pincus, the school's record holder in the event, tossed the javelin a distance of 131'7”. Her school-record throw of 140'9”, recorded during the team's annual spring trip to California, currently ranks her eighth in Division III.
