The Middlebury College track & field teams competed at Springfield on Saturday afternoon in a dual meet against the Pride. Several Panthers won events at the meet including some impressive results in windy conditions. The men won by a score of 100-85, while the women were victorious 125-70.

The women won 17 of the 19 events contested, led by Hannah Blackburn who posted a pair of individual victories. She led the field to the finish line in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.43, while she leapt 35'1.75” in the triple jump. Other winners on the track included Abigail Pohl in the 3000m steeplechase (11:51.08), Addis Fouche-Channer in the 1500m run (4:57.87), Perri Silverhart in the 400m dash (1:04.27) and Lauren Henry in the 100m dash (12.92).

Also placing first on the day were Paige Fernandez in the 400 hurdles (1:07.99), Sara Sobolewski in the 200m dash (27.28), Alison Maxwell in the 5000m run (17:52.20) and both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Off the track, event wins came from Dana Tripp in the hammer throw (121'7”), Emily Mellen in the pole vault (9'11.25”), Laura Strom in the high jump (5'2.25”), Lauren Pincus in the javelin (130'3”) and Holly Lanchantin in the discus (106'10”).

On the men's side, the Panthers picked up wins in 11 events. On the track, Sam Klockenkemper won the 3000m steeplechase (10:18.44). Additional victories came from Lucas Carpinello in the 1500m run (4:07.92) and Taylor Shortsleeve in the 110m hurdles (15.71).

Other first-place efforts were posted by Bryan Holtzman in the 100m dash (11.03), Jake Wood in the 400 hurdles (55.91), Alex Nichols in the 200 dash (22.84) and Wilder Schaaf in the 5000m run (15:18.71).

In field events, Jason McCallum won the pole vault (15'1”), while Ola Fadairo was victorious in the discus (119'11”).

The Panther squads will return to action next Saturday at the Army 5-Way.
