School Records Fall as Track Teams Compete at Valentine Invitational

School records established by Alexandra Morris in the women's 400-meter dash and Bryan Holtzman during the men's 200-meter dash highlighted the efforts of the Middlebury indoor track teams during the two-day Boston University Valentine Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The event featured many Division I, II and III participants from across the country.

During the 400-meter dash Friday, Morris blazed to the finish line in a school-record time of 57.54, the 11th-fastest time in the all of Division III. Additionally, the women's distance medley relay team of Alison Maxwell, Morris, Erzie Nagy and Cate Skinner notched a sixth-place finish with a time of 12:09.02, which is also the sixth-fastest time in the nation.

The men's distance medley relay quartet of Sam Cartwright, Alex Nichols, Lucas Carpinello and Wilder Schaaf had a strong showing and crossed the finish line with a 10th-place time of 10:05.05, the eighth-quickest time in the country.

On the track Saturday, Holtzman broke his own school record in the 200-meter dash stopping the clock in 22.25.
