Hollis Perticone scored two goals and added an assist as third-ranked Middlebury cruised to a 7-0 NESCAC road win Sunday against Hamilton at the Campus Road Athletic Field. Middlebury (11-1, 7-1), winners of seven-straight games, returns home for a Saturday conference game with Bates at 11:00 a.m., while the Continentals (6-6, 2-5) travel to Colby on the same day.

Middlebury grabbed a 1-0 lead on its 15th shot of the afternoon. Following a Panther penalty corner, Hamilton goalie Victoria Trentini turned away a shot by Pam Schulman.  Shannon Hutteman controlled the rebound and found Catherine Fowler for the goal with 7:44 left in the first half.

The Fowler-Hutteman combination worked again for Middlebury's second goal with 5:24 remaining in the first. Fowler inserted the ball on another penalty corner and one-timed a pass from Hutteman from five yards away from the cage. The goal was her team-leading eighth of the season.

The Panthers made it 3-0 with 2:34 to go in the half. Alyssa DiMaio carried the ball into the circle along the end line from the right side and passed to Perticone, who redirected the ball inside the near post.

In the second half, Lauren Berestecky increased the Panther lead to 4-0 on her seventh goal of the season at 39:12. After Trentini stopped a shot by Schulman, Berestecky tapped in the rebound.

Perticone increased the lead to five with her second of the game and seventh this year at 46:40. Anna Kenyon found Perticone behind the defense on the left side. Perticone maneuvered toward the middle of the circle and put a shot past a diving Trentini after a couple of stick moves.

Perticone set up Josie Trichka for her second goal this year in the 63rd minute, and Audrey Quirk notched her first career goal on a pass from Caroline Knapp just under a minute later.

The Panthers, who lead the all-time series with the Continentals by an 11-2 mark, enjoyed advantages in both shots (28-5) and penalty corners (11-2). Emily Knapp made two saves for her third shutout, while Trentini stopped 11 shots.
