The Panther track and field teams competed in a meet at Dartmouth on Saturday with the host school, the University of Vermont and Brandeis. Middlebury won seven different events on the day, with several impressive finishes.
Senior Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) set a new school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, winning the event with a time of 10:43. Also picking up a victory for the women was senior Mia Martinez (Ridgewood, N.J.), who captured the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.76. Senior Hannah Meier (Charlotte, Vt.) earned a second place finish in the 5,000 (17:59.62), while junior Molly McLean (East Islip, N.Y.) earned the same finish in the 400 hurdles (1:06.34). Earning third place finishes were rookie Holly Lanchantin (Natick, Mass.) in the discus (119'5”) and sophomore Lauren Pincus (Upper Montclair, N.J.) in the javelin (124'11”).
Sophomore Peter Hetzler (Rumson, N.J.) earned a win for the men in the 400, taking home the title with a time of 50.12. Also earning victories were sophomore Brian Parker (S. Windsor, Conn.) in the triple jump (43'2.5”), sophomore Nate Sans (Princeton, Mass.) in the 5,000 (15:26.06) and rookie Taylor Shortsleeve (Medfield, Mass.) in the 110 hurdles (16.36). Sophomore Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) came in second in the 200 (22.83), while senior Marc Delaney (Wading River, N.Y.) was also second, earning the finish with a toss of 144'5” in the hammer. Picking up two second place finishes was junior Jack Davies (Grosse Pointe, Mich.), who did so in the 800 (1:57.23) and the 1500 (3:54.64).
