The Panther indoor track teams competed at the Open New England Championships hosted by Boston University on Friday and Saturday. Both DMR relay teams continued to impress, breaking their own school records at the meet that was comprised of Division I, II and III teams.
The women's team of Addie Tousley, Rebecca Fanning, Juliet Ryan-Davis and Margo Cramer won the event with a time of 11:37.06. With that effort, the team set a new Open New England meet record, school record and improved on their nation's-best time.
The men improved their time to 9:53.07 – dropping two seconds for a fifth place finish, ranking them third nationally. Jack Davies, Peter Hetzler, Patrick Hebble and Michael Schmidt earned the fifth-best Division III time in history.
Davies and Hebble both turned in impressive times in the mile. Davies broke his own school record with a 4:10.31, while Hebble was just behind in 4:10.74. Kevin Chu set a new school record with his 60 meter hurdle time, finishing in 8.47.
