Indoor Track With Top Performances At B.U.

The Panther indoor track teams took part in a huge meet at Boston University over the weekend. Several athletes turned in top performances at the meet, including senior Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.), who was third in the 5,000 with a time of 14:10.30, a new school record. He is now ranked first in the nation in that event. His teammate, junior Jack Davis (Crosse Pointe, Mich.) is currently ranked third in the event, earning a time of 14:39.93.

Also setting a new school mark was sophomore Kevin Chu (Burlington, Vt.), who did so in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.55. Sophomore Peter Hetzler (Rumson, N.J.) is also a new school record holder, setting the mark with a 49.68 second place effort in the 400.

Senior Margo Carmer (Seattle, Wash.) finished 16th in the mile (4:59.36) and is currently ranked fourth in that event. Junior Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) is also ranked nationally, finishing the 800 in 18th place with a time of 2:15.86, to place her eighth in Division III.
