Women's DMR Team Wins NCAA Title

The Middlebury College women's DMR (distance medley relay) team has won the NCAA Indoor National Championships. The group accomplished the feat at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships hosted by Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. The team, comprised of senior Sophia Spring (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.), sophomore Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.), senior Kaitlynn Saldanha (Scarborough, Maine) and junior Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.), won the event with a time of 11:47.96. The time was a new Capital Center Track record and just missed the school record set last weekend at the ECAC Championships. The group joins Kristy (Laramee) Kerin '01, Bryan Black '02 and Kristoph Becker '06 as the school's other track NCAA Champions.

Sophomore Grace Doering (Darien, Conn.) finished the high jump in 16th place, clearing 5'1 ¼", while junior Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) was 13th in the 5,000 with a time of 15:06.07.
