Lauren Greer scored two goals and earned two assists to lead nationally ranked No. 11 Middlebury College to a 4-0 win against Hamilton College in a NESCAC game at Hamilton's Campus Road Athletic Field on Oct. 8. Greer moved past Channing Weymouth into first place on the program's all-time assist list with 27 for her Middlebury career. (Weymouth recorded 25 from 2002 to 2005).

Hannah Clarke and Katherine Theiss added one goal apiece, and Heather Karpas had an assist. Becca Shaw (one save) and Madeline Brooks combined on the shutout. As Middlebury won its fifth straight game.

The Panthers (7-2 overall, 5-2 NESCAC) held a commanding 22-6 shot advantage, including 16-1 in the first half. Middlebury was awarded nine penalty corners to six for the Continentals.

Greer gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead with 16:04 left in the first half. Her initial shot from close range was stopped by Hamilton goalie Victoria Trentini (nine saves), but she pounced on the loose ball and poked it past Trentini.

Greer made it 2-0 with 9:39 remaining in the half. Karpas passed the ball ahead to Greer, who carried it into the middle of the circle, and fired the ball into the back of the cage with a defender closely guarding her.

Greer set up Theiss 3:21 before the break for a 3-0 cushion. Clarke completed the scoring on her fifth goal with 14:17 left in the second half. Greer entered the circle from the right wing and passed to an open Clarke on the left side of the cage. Clarke took the pass and swept the ball all in one motion past Trentini before she could reach Clarke to challenge the shot.

Hamilton (4-4, 3-3) has allowed eight goals in the last two games, and has dropped its last two home contests. Middlebury leads the all-time series 8-2. The teams were playing each other for the first time since 1995.

The Continentals host SUNY Geneseo in non-conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The Panthers return home to face Babson College for a non-conference game on Sunday, Oct. 9.
