Three members of the Middlebury College track & field teams earned All-American status last week at the NCAA Championships hosted by Milliken University in Decatur, Illinois. The men had a great team finish as they placed in a tie for 10th place of 115 teams competing at the championship.
Sophomore Khristoph Becker (Media, Pa.) turned in two tremendous performances, earning All-American honors in two separate events. Becker finished second overall in the decathlon, setting a new school record with 6,712 points. In the javelin, he finished fifth overall with a toss of 197'8", also earning All-American honors.
Classmate Kevin Bright (Sharon, Mass.) also earned All-American status as he finished fourth overall in the 400 hurdles, breaking his own school record with a time of 52.45.
On the women's side, junior Jessica Manzer (Palatine Bridge, N.Y.) earned All-American honors for the third straight year in the 1500. This year, her time of 4:34.95 placed her fifth overall in the event. (complete results)
