The Panther indoor track team took part in some competitive indoor races at McGill University in Montreal on Saturday.
The big story of the weekend was sophomore Matt Horesta (Pomptain Plains, N.J.), who broke the school's indoor 1000 meter record with a time of 2:38.46. The old record was held by Krishna Moody in 2000. Sophomore Kevin Bright (Sharon, Mass.) finished third in the 600 meters in 1:23.19, while junior Nick Digani (Northfield, Ill.) came in fifth in the 1500 meters in 4:08.77. In the shot put, first-year thrower Pascal Lasambe (S. Burlington, Vt.) came in sixth with a toss of 12.66 meters, while senior Craig Parker (Cohasset, Mass.) was third (11.53m) and sophomore Chris Harnisch (Fairfax, Va.) was sixth (10.0m) in the weight throw. In the women's weight throw, sophomore Kim Nelson (New York, N.Y.) placed seventh with a throw of 11.08m. (results)
