Middlebury Earns Seventh at NESCAC Championships

The Middlebury women's swimming and diving team placed seventh out of 11 teams at the 2020 NESCAC Championships. The Panthers hosted the meet and scored 684 points, while Williams took home its seventh-straight title with 1930.5 points. Tufts (1593.5 points) and Amherst (1369 points) rounded out the top-three teams.

Frances VanderMeer placed sixth in the 100-yard backstroke on Sunday evening, touching the wall in 51.55. In the 200 breaststroke, Haley Hutchinson and Hannah Wander placed seventh and eighth, respectively. Hutchinson clocked in at 2:22.67, while Wander was just behind in 2:24.52.

Off the 3-meter diving board, Olivia Rieur placed eighth overall with 360.15 points, while MaryCate Carroll earned 14th-place (339.50). The 400 free relay team comprised on VanderMeer, Courtney Gantt, Lily Siemasko and Katie Cantrell recorded an eighth-place finish with a time of 3:29.92.
