The Middlebury women's tennis team opened its 2019-20 season by taking part in the annual Lindsay Morehouse Invitational hosted by Williams. During the three-day event, individuals from Middlebury, RPI, Skidmore and Williams squared off in singles and doubles matches. No individual tournament winner was crowned at the end of the Invitational, as the tournament is a round-robin format.

During the first day against Skidmore in doubles, the Panther duo of Heather Boehm and Maddi Stow picked up an 8-2 victory, while the tandem of Katherine Hughes and Catherine Blazye earned an 8-5 win. The team of Brinlea La Barge and Amanda Frank ended the day with an 8-3 win.

On day one of singles play Saturday, Stow and La Barge each tallied straight-set wins against RPI, while Boehm and Caitlin Neal were both victorious in third-set superbreakers.

The doubles pair of Boehm and Stow earned two wins on Saturday against RPI and Williams, while the tandem of La Barge and Frank as well as Ruhi Kamdar and Neal won over RPI. The duo of Blazye and Hughes edged a Williams pair to round out play.

On Sunday in singles against Skidmore, Boehm, Stow and Neal each recorded straight-set wins, while La Barge was victorious in three sets. During individual play with the host Ephs, the trio of Hughes, La Barge and Frank each claimed a victory. The duo of Boehm and Stow also notched a win in doubles play.

At the conclusion of action on Sunday, Blazye was given the Lindsay Morehouse Award, given to an upperclassman on each team who showed great character, friendship, hard work and sportsmanship.

The Panthers return to the courts when they host the three-day ITA Regional Championships from September 27-29.
