Van Wieren secures her third All-American honor.
Elsie Van Wieren of the 12th-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American in singles.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Van Wieren logs her third All-American nod after earning the distinction in singles and doubles a season ago.
- The rising junior was named an All-NESCAC First Team selection for the second year in a row.
- Van Wieren led the squad with a 25-8 mark. In dual matches, the Panther posted a 16-4 record while playing in the top flight.
- She represented the navy and white at the NCAA Singles Championship, advancing to the quarterfinals before falling to the eventual champion.
- Van Wieren sports a 48-14 singles record through two seasons at Middlebury.
The Panther helped lead the squad to double-digit wins (14) for the 22nd time since 2000 and NCAA regional hosting rights. The full list and selection criteria may be found here.
