Middlebury outscored host Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts by a 22-7 count in the first quarter and 36-4 in the third, cruising to a 92-33 road win on Tuesday night. The Panthers (4-0) return to action on Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. game at The Sage Colleges.

The 92 points scored are the most since January 17, 2012 when the Panthers defeated Colby-Sawyer in overtime, 95-90. The total is the biggest in regulation since November 23, 2010 during a 92-58 win over Norwich.

Middlebury jumped out early with a 12-3 lead at the 5:52 mark on a pair of free throws by Maya Davis. The lead increased to 22-5 with 1:16 left on a three-point field goal from Emily Wander, as the Panthers held a 15-point edge the end of the first 10 minutes of play.

In the second quarter, Kira Waldman knocked down four baskets, as the Panthers took a 45-17 lead into the halftime break.

Out of the locker rooms, Middlebury converted a blistering 71.4 percent (15-21) of its shots from the floor in the third quarter, including 3-5 from three-point range and 3-3 at the free-throw line. The Panther defense limited the Trailblazers to just four points on 12.5 percent (2-16) and 0-5 from beyond the arc while forcing five turnovers.

Middlebury was never challenged the rest of the way en route to the 92-33 victory.

All 13 Panthers that played scored in the contest, led by 19 points on 7-9 shooting from the floor by Davis and a career-high 14 points from Wander. Waldman added 12 points on 6-9 shooting. Alex Huffman had a nice all-around game of eight points, six rebounds and four assists, while Alyna Baharozian followed suit with six points, a team-best seven boards and four assists.

Mckenzie Robinson led MCLA (3-2) with seven points, while Samantha Gawron and Courtney Pingelski each added six.

The Panther defense limited the Trailblazers to just 33 points on 19.3 percent (11-57), and just 5.9 percent (1-17) from beyond the arc. Middlebury held a decided 53-23 rebounding advantage, a 46-18 edge in points in the paint and scored 27 points off of 17 MCLA turnovers.
