Women’s Basketball Ends Regular Season With Setback at Hamilton

The Middlebury women's basketball team ended its regular season on Saturday against Hamilton, falling to the Continentals by a 64-45 tally in New York.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The hosts raced out to an 11-1 lead on a pair of free throws from Taylor Lambo with 5:30 left in the first quarter.
  • The Panthers whittled the deficit to seven in the final seconds of the frame when Teagan Lind converted a layup to make it a 17-10 contest.
  • Middlebury and Hamilton traded baskets over much of the second stanza until a jumper by Althea Hill gave the Continentals a 30-18 advantage at the half.
  • Holding a 34-23 lead, the blue and gold rattled off a 7-0 spurt to make it 41-23 on a bucket in the paint by Lambo at the 5:35 mark.
  • The Continentals tallied 13 of the final 19 points of the quarter, fueled by back-to-back three-pointers by Hannah Bernstein, for a 54-27 tally headed to the fourth quarter.
  • Hamilton maintained the double-digit lead over the final 10 minutes on its way to a 64-45 decision.

  • Islay Moore had a team-high nine points, while Molly Keaveney added eight points and four rebounds off the bench.
  • The programs played for the 41st time, with the Panthers holding a 24-17 advantage in the series.
