Women's Tennis Ends Fall With Home Invitational

The three-day Middlebury Invitational women's tennis tournament featured a trio of teams that played a form of hidden duals from Friday through Sunday. Action took place inside the Nelson Recreational Center. Teams competing in the invitational were Middlebury, Brandeis and Williams. The invitational concluded the fall portion of the season for Middlebury.

The format for the invitational saw teams playing a dual in either singles or doubles against each other, as between four to five singles as well as three doubles matches were contested. The singles were played in the best two-of-three format with a tiebreaker set in the third and doubles was one pro-set.

Middlebury competed in a doubles match on Friday evening against Williams, as the Panther duo of Ann Martin Skelly and Christina Puccinelli edged the Eph tandem of Chloe Henderson and Emily Zheng, 8-5.

On Saturday in doubles against Brandeis, Skelly and Puccinelli defeated Olivia Leavitt and Lauren Bertsch (8-3), while Nora Dahl and Emily Bian won by an 8-3 score against Sophia He and Ana Hatfield.

During singles versus Williams, Puccinelli claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win over Henderson, while Emma Gorman earned a 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 decision against Maxine Ng.
