The Middlebury women's tennis team posted its seventh-straight win with a 9-0 NESCAC victory Saturday over Trinity (6-6, 1-4). The match took place on the Proctor Tennis Courts. The third-ranked Panthers (10-3, 6-0) return to action on Sunday with a 10:00 a.m. NESCAC home match against #6 Wesleyan.
Middlebury started things by notching all three points during doubles play. The No. 3 tandem of Christina Puccinelli and Alexandra Fields posted an 8-0 victory over Ania Aliev and Jane Weber. The Panther team of Kaysee Orozco and Catherine Blazye doubled the lead with an 8-0 win in the second flight over Krista Jiranek and Jillian Winer, while the No. 1 pair of Skylar Schossberger and Katherine Hughes were victorious 8-2 against Vanja Babunski and Julia Brogan.
In singles, the Panthers cruised in straight sets during all six wins. Maddi Stow breezed by Sara Curtis at No. 6 (6-0, 6-0), while Blazye clinched the match in the third spot with a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Jiranek. Puccinelli didn't surrender a game in a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 2 against Brogan, while Hughes made the score 7-0 in favor of the hosts with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Aliev at No. 5.
Molly Paradies recorded a 6-2, 6-3 win against Winer at No. 4, while Fields closed out the sweep with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Babunski in the top flight.
