The seventh-ranked Middlebury women's tennis recorded a 9-0 road victory Sunday over Connecticut College at the South Street Courts in New London, Connecticut. The Panthers (11-3, 6-1), who ran their overall winning streak to six matches, conclude the regular-season portion of their schedule on Saturday with a road match beginning at 1:00 p.m. versus #5 Amherst.
Middlebury had little trouble during doubles play on Sunday, sweeping all three matches against the Camels (10-8, 1-5). The third Panther team of Alexandra Fields and Christina Puccinelli scored the first point with an 8-0 victory over Angelica Warren and Jillian Brigandi. In the #1 slot, the duo of Ria Gerger and Lily Bondy eased past Connecticut College's Aleksandra Drljaca and Charlotte Marcoux, 8-1. The Middlebury pair of Kaysee Orozco and Sadie Shackelford finished the sweep with an 8-2 triumph at #2 over Brinley Bartlett and Emily Migliorini.
In singles play, the Panthers cruised to straight-set wins in all six flights, dropping a combined four games. Shackelford picked up the fourth Panther point at #5 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Mariah Warren. Puccinelli clinched the match victory for the visitors from the #3 spot with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Marcoux, while Molly Paradies won in the fourth spot (6-0, 6-1) against Susanna Studwell.
Bondy didn't drop a game at #2 (6-0, 6-0) against Migliorini, while Catherine Miller tallied her first victory in dual matches via a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6 against Aneeka Kalia. Fields rounded out the scoring by posting set tallies of 6-1 and 6-0 at #1 versus Drljaca.
