Middlebury finished third overall at the 2015 NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championship hosted inside the Wesleyan Natatorium. Eighth-ranked Williams took home the team title with 2,103.5 points, while 17th-ranked Bates was a distant runner up with 1,345. Middlebury, ranked 19th nationally, finished third racking up 1,203 points, while #20 Amherst (1,042) and Bowdoin (932.5) rounded out the top five.
In the final event of the evening, the Middlebury team of Jamie Hillas, Morgan Burke, Megan Griffin and Courtney Haron finished third and broke the school record in the 400 free relay with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 3:29.18. The quartet, who also established a school record in the 200 free relay on Friday, bettered the previous 400 relay record set back in 2008 by the smallest of margins (.02).
Individually, Hillas wound up fifth in the 200 breaststroke with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 2:21.33, while Nora O'Leary finished seventh in the same event posting an NCAA 'B' cut time of 2:22.29.
Other top-10 efforts in the pool were posted by Lily Sawyer, who placed sixth during the 200 fly (2:09.22), while Margaret Pollack was 10th (2:10.46). Sawyer posted an NCAA 'B' cut time of 2:07.88 during Sunday morning's preliminary swim.
Following her fourth-place effort during Friday's 1-meter final, Adrianna Baker matched that showing with a fourth-place finish in Sunday's 3-meter competition with 368.75 points.
Burke stopped the clock seventh in the 100 free (52.29), while Sarah Bartholomae touched the wall 10th in the 200 back (2:07.64).
At the conclusion of the meet, Hillas was recognized by the conference for accumulating a total of 337 points, the second-most by an individual over four years of championship competition.
The Panthers will have over a month off from competition before members of the team who qualify will compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Championships in Woodlands, Texas from March 18-21.
