Box Score Greg Conrad scored two goals and Adam Glaser added to his single-season assist record with a pair of helpers, leading Middlebury to a four-goal output Saturday after halftime en route to a 4-1 road victory in men's soccer action over Bates. Middlebury (11-2-1, 6-2-1), who currently sits in second place in the NESCAC standings and has won five-straight matches, returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Williams in the regular-season finale at 2:30 p.m.
With his two helpers on Saturday, Glaser adds to his single-season record with 12, and also moves into fifth in program history with 69 points (24-21-69). He has accumulated 21 career assists, placing him just one behind Baer Fisher '09 and Kyle Dezotell '03 who both helped on 22 scores during their respective careers.
Bates (7-5-2, 2-5-2) scored first in the third minute of action. Noah Riskind found the back of the net for the Bobcats on a header for the first goal of his career on an assist from David Murphy.
The Panthers held a 9-2 advantage in shot during the opening half, but couldn't put home the equalizer.
In the second half, Conrad scored in the 60th minute to even the match at 1-1 via Glaser's first assist. Less than a minute after the game-tying goal, Tim Ogle recorded his second goal this season to put the Panthers up for good, 2-1.
Conrad scored his second of the match and eighth of the season in the 78th minute on a beautiful cross from the left by Glaser, while Daniel O'Grady capped the scoring with a tally in the 86th minute.
Middlebury possessed a 26-3 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. Bates goalkeeper Sam Polito made six saves, while Greg Sydor didn't record a save in the win.
