Gavin Randolph and Will Sawin of the #14 Middlebury men's soccer team have been named United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections. Randolph was tabbed a first-team honoree, while Sawin secured a spot on the third team.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Randolph (First Team)
- Randolph tallies his first all-region first-team honor after being a second-team selection each of the past two seasons.
- The Panther is a three-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District recipient and a NESCAC All-Academic designee.
- Randolph earned his third all-conference laurel with a second-team selection.
- The forward appeared in 18 contests with 15 starts for Middlebury, finishing third on the squad in goals (three) and points (nine).
- He recorded a season-best two goals in a 4-0 triumph over Colby on October 11.
- Randolph appeared in 75 career games with 54 starts, tallying 49 points on 18 goals and 13 assists.
- Sawin (Third Team)
- The junior tallies his first regional distinction.
- Sawin also earned All-NESCAC First Team honors.
- The Panther enjoyed a stellar campaign, leading the team with nine goals and 22 points. His four assists ranked second on the squad.
- Sawin secured CSC Academic All-District distinction and has been named a NESCAC All-Academic honoree.
- He logged a point in six of the final 10 contests, including the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over SUNY Geneseo in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
The United Soccer Coaches will announce the All-America honorees on Thursday, December 4.
