Three men's soccer players were tabbed CSC Academic All-District.
Eduardo Casanova, Gavin Randolph and Will Sawin of the 12th-ranked Middlebury men's soccer team have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District selections.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Casanova
- Casanova is an architectural studies major and secures his initial all-district honor.
- The midfielder secured All-NESCAC Second Team laurels for the first time in a Middlebury uniform.
- Casanova led the team and finished second in the conference with seven assists.
- The Panther logged at least one point in five contests and finished his Middlebury career with five goals, 12 assists and 22 points.
- Randolph
- The computer science & economics dual major earns the accolade for the third consecutive year.
- Randolph finished third on the team with three goals and nine points. Two of his tallies were game winners.
- Randolph was named an All-NESCAC selection, securing a spot on the second team for the third year in a row.
- During his career, the midfielder/forward was a two-time United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-New England Region honoree.
- Randolph secured CSC Academic All-America Second Team laurels last season and is a two-time NESCAC All-Academic selection.
- Sawin
- This marks the first time that Sawin has been named an academic all-district selection.
- The Panther had an outstanding junior campaign, leading the team with nine goals and 22 points over 1,247 minutes of action. Both metrics also ranked second in the NESCAC.
- Sawin tallied a point in six of the squad's last 10 contests, including the game-winner in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against SUNY Geneseo.
- The international politics & economics major earned a first-team all-conference nod for his performance.
- Sawin is also a NESCAC All-Academic honoree and member of Middlebury's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
The CSC Academic All-America teams will be announced on Tuesday, December 16.
