The Middlebury women's tennis team concluded its weekend with a 2-1 record, following a 7-2 NESCAC victory at Wesleyan (4-7, 2-4). The 10th-ranked Panthers (8-4, 3-1) return to action on Saturday when they host Bowdoin at 1:00 p.m.
Middlebury grabbed a 2-1 lead following doubles, as the #3 team of Sadie Shackelford and Lily Bondy blanked Nicki Softness and Maddie James (8-0), while the top-flight duo of Lauren Amos and Margot Marchese posted an 8-4 victory over Grace Smith and Olivia Koh.
The Panthers took five of the six singles contests, including four in straight sets. Kaysee Orozco was a 6-2, 7-5 winner at #1 over DuBrin, while Bondy recorded a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the second slot against Smith. Marchese emerged with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #3 against Koh, before Wesleyan grabbed its lone singles point at #6.
Tallying a 6-3, 6-2 win at #5 was Katie Paradies against Jessica Seidman, while Dorrie Paradies rounded out the scoring via a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win in the fourth slot over Anna Howard.
