The 10th-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team (7-4, 2-1) broke a brief two-match skid, defeating #15 Trinity (8-4, 2-2) by a 7-2 score on the road Saturday afternoon. The Panthers will visit Wesleyan on Sunday.
Alexandra Fields and Jennifer Sundstrom gave Middlebury the first point of the match at #2 doubles, topping Alex Criss and Senzo Maphisa, 8-5. Trinity tied the match with a win at #1, before Dorrie and Katie Paradies topped Elizabeth Gerber and Coline Gagne 8-4 at #3.
The match moved to a 2-2 tie with a Trinity victory at #3 singles. That would be the Bantams final point, as Middlebury took the final five singles match-ups.
Fields and Kaysee Orozco both needed three sets for wins at #1 and #2 respectively. Margot Marchese (6-1, 6-2), D. Paradies (6-0, 6-1) and K. Paradies (6-3, 7-5) were all straight-set winners.
