The sixth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team began its annual spring break trip to California with an 8-1 loss Saturday afternoon to host and 12th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer at the Pauley Tennis Complex. The Panthers will return to the court Sunday with a match against UC-Santa Cruz in Claremont at 2:00 p.m.
Middlebury's lone point of the match came at No. 4 singles from Dorrie Paradies. Paradies defeated Marie Fleming in straight sets by identical 6-2, 6-2 scores.
