Women's Tennis Players Advance In NCAAs

Four members of the Middlebury women's tennis team all advanced on day one of the NCAA singles and doubles competition. Action is taking place at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Lok-Sze Leung and Ria Gerger each picked up two wins in singles play to advance to the quarterfinals. Leung earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Bronte Goodhue of Sewanee, before topping Sofia Vega of Texas Lutheran 6-3, 6-1. Gerger cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Rebekah Kitto of Caltech, before defeating Lindsay Raulston of Mary Washington, 6-1, 7-5, 7-6. Both players return to action on Friday in the quarterfinal round.

In doubles play, Brittney Faber and Leah Kepping advanced to the round of eight with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Megan Crowley and Claire Marshall of DePauw. The duo are back on the court Friday in the quarterfinals.
