Women's Tennis Tops Tufts

The Middlebury women's tennis team picked up a NESCAC win over Tufts on Saturday, topping the 13th-ranked Jumbos (7-9), 7-2. The Panthers improve to 12-1 overall, while the Jumbos drop their fourth straight match, losing to #10 Bowdoin, #1 Williams, #3 Amherst and #7 Middlebury.

Middlebury took 2-3 doubles matches, with Sophie Schonfeld and Becca Kimmel of Tufts topping Victoria Aiello and DeeDee Myers of Middlebury 8-5 at #3.

The Panthers won five of six singles matches, all of them coming in straight sets. Leah Kepping cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Shelci Bowman at #3, while Lok Sze Leung had little trouble with Lindsay Katz at #1, 6-1, 6-2. Victoria Aiello was a 6-3, 6-2 at #2, while Dorrie and Katie Paradies both earned singles victories at #5 and #6.
