Women's Tennis Suffers First Loss

The Middlebury women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season, falling at top-ranked Williams by a score of 6-3. The match, which started outside and moved inside due to darkness, took just over six and a half hours to complete. The seventh-ranked Panthers fall to 11-1 on the season while the Ephs moved to 14-1.

Williams claimed the early lead in the match by winning two of the three doubles matches. Middlebury's top duo of Brittney Faber and Leah Kepping won over the Eph tandem of Taylor French and Kara Shoemaker 8-1.

The Eph's number two team of Kristin Alotta and Kathleen Elkins won a tiebreaker 9-8 (5) over Anna Burke and Lok-Sze Leung. At three doubles, the Eph pairing of Caroline Capute and Nancy Worley prevailed over Tori Aiello and Dee Dee Myers, 8-4.

Leung was a 7-6 (2) winner at #1 singles, while Kepping earned a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 victory at #3. Aiello and Faber both lost in three sets, while both of the Paradies' matches at five and six were tight.
