Women's Tennis Tops #2 Emory

The Middlebury women's tennis team picked a big victory at home on Friday, topping #2 Emory (10-4) by a score of 5-4. The seventh-ranked Panthers remain undefeated on the season, improving to a perfect 10-0 as they prepare to host Bowdoin on Saturday.

Leading 2-1 after doubles play, Victoria Aiello earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at #2, followed by a 6-2, 6-3 victory at #1 by Lok Sze Leung over second-ranked Gabbie Clark. The contest was a rematch of the Fall ITA National Small College championship match, where Leung also emerged victorious.

Emory picked up wins at #5, #4 and #6 to even the match at 4-4. The final contest at #3 came down to a third set tie-breaker between Panther Leah Kepping and Mika Padmanabhan of Emory. After dropping the first set 2-6, Kepping battled back for 7-5 and 7-6 (4) wins to clinch the victory.
