Women's Tennis Ends Spring Break Undefeated

The Middlebury women's tennis team improved to 8-0 on the season with two more wins on the west coast. The #7 Panthers wrapped up their spring break with a 9-0 win over #15 Pomona, before sweeping #30 Linfield, 9-0.

Middlebury took all three doubles matches vs. Pomona, with six straight-set wins in singles play. Brittany Faber at #4 and Dorrie Paradies at #5 both picked up two-set victories with a tie-breaker win.

Against Linfield, the undefeated Panthers (8-0) swept through doubles play with ease before taking all six singles flights from the Wildcats in two sets each.

At No. 1 singles, Lok-Sze Leung, the top-ranked player in the Northeast region, blanked Abby Olbrich 6-0, 6-0. In two of the most closely contested matches at two and three singles, respectively, Victoria Aiello defeated Caroline Brigham 6-2, 6-2 and Leah Kepping turned away Kaila Nip 6-3, 6-2.

Dorrie Paradies earned a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Lexi Thomas while sister Katie Paradies took care of Kiana Nip by a score of 6-0, 6-1. In the sixth and final flight, DeeDee Myers defeated Kelly Watanabe 6-1, 6-0.
