McAnaney & Poracky Earn Player of the Week Honors

Middlebury College softball players Ali McAnaney (Northbrook, Ill.) and Jessica Poracky (Ramsey, N.J.) have swept the NESCAC Player of the Week awards. The duo helped lead the team to a 5-0 week, including a sweep of Amherst to finish 11-1 in NESCAC West play, clinching the top seed.

McAnaney earned "Pitcher Of The Week" honors after not allowing a run over 11 innings of work last week for the Panthers, picking up two wins. She opened the week with a one-hit shutout, striking out 12 in a victory over Lyndon. McAnaney then picked up a win in game two against Amherst, tossing five shutout innings and striking out six. She is currently 8-1 with a 1.33 ERA on the season.

Poracky was named "Player Of The Week" after hitting .529 last week. The sophomore went 5-10 against the Jeffs, belting three doubles and a homer, while scoring four runs. She drove in seven runs over five games, scoring eight. Poracky owns a .420 average on the year, hitting 12 doubles with two triples, two homers and 18 runs driven in.
