Kristyn Carroll Becomes Second All-American in Program History

Kristyn Carroll is the second player in program history to be named an All-American.

Kristyn Carroll of the #25 Middlebury softball team has been named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American. The Panther logged a spot on the organization's third team as an outfielder.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Carroll joins Noelle Ruschil '22 as the second All-American honoree in program history.
  • The outfielder became the third Middlebury player to earn NESCAC Player of the Year.
  • Alongside her fourth consecutive nod to the conference's first team, Carroll grabbed a spot on the NFCA's All-Region First Team and a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection.
  • She recorded five hits during the Medford Regional of the NCAA Tournament and was subsequently named to the all-tournament squad.
  • The Panther shuffled the record books in her final season, resetting single-campaign marks for at-bats (158), hits (79) and runs scored (53).
  • Carroll, who was the only player to start all 45 contests, led the squad with a .500 batting average, 11 triples, a .537 on-base percentage and 35 stolen bases.
  • She had 26 games with two or more hits, including seven of her final 10 games in a navy and white uniform.
  • The outfielder closes her Middlebury career with a .484 batting average, 242 hits, 182 runs scored, 100 stolen bases and 79 walks. Each of those marks is the best in the school's history.

Carroll and her teammates hoisted the NESCAC Championship for the second time in school history and tallied the most wins of any Middlebury program in a single season with 35. The complete list of the NFCA All-American honorees may be found here.
