Women's Tennis Competes At NEWITT

The Panther women's tennis team ended its fall season by competing at the NEWITT (New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament) hosted by Smith and Mt. Holyoke.  Thirty-two team brackets were set up, with each pair playing two singles and one doubles match against their opponents. The team that took two of three matches advanced to the next round of play.

The Middlebury duo of sophomores Brittney Faber (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Leah Kepping (Northport, N.Y.) were solid, winning three matches to advance to the semifinal round. The two topped Roger Williams, Amherst and Bowdoin 3-0, before falling to eventual champion Amherst 3-0 in the semifinal round.

Junior Sally Wilkey (Vero Beach, Fla.) and first-year player Dorrie Paradies (Atlanta, Ga.) also competed in the top bracket. The pair topped a duo from Springfield 3-0 before falling 2-1 to Williams, who advanced to the championship match.
