Swimming & Diving Competes At Hamilton

The Middlebury College swimming and diving teams each won their third straight contest as they picked up wins at Hamilton. The women cruised to a 212-88 win, while the men edged out the Continentals, 151-133.

Senior Kevin O'Rourke (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) had a big day for the Panthers, winning three different events. O'Rourke was a winner in the 100 free (47.65), 200 free (1:43.85) and the 500 free (4:50.72). Winning twice for the women was sophomore Annie Friedlander (Deephaven, Minn.), who captured both the 100 back (1:02.60) and the 200 IM (2:16.07). Sophomore Jessie Ward (Pittsford, N.Y.) won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.02) and the 200 breaststroke (2:31.71), while junior Katie Soja (Sudbury, Mass.) earned wins in the 500 free (5:23.02) and the 1000 free (10:52.68). Capturing both the 1M (237.30) and 3M (261.60) diving events was first-year diver Meagan Collins (Darien, Conn.).
